DAY TRIPS

The Santa Ana Elks Travel Club is FREE to all Elks, TAWC, AUMC and their families and friends 

We meet on the first Friday of each month at 1:00 PM, unless otherwise notified
We will be meeting at the NEW Santa Ana Elks Lodge at 1751 S. Lyon Street, Santa Ana, Ca 
ALSO ALL TRIPS DEPART AND RETURN TO the Santa Ana Elks Lodge
​Sign-up/Reservations must be paid for to ensure your space on the trip; a stand by list will be made if the trip is full.

A minimum of 40 travelers are needed to cover the costs of transportation

L.A. MURDER, MYSTERY & SCANDAL
Tuesday September 24, 2019

Today we are joined by professional step-on guide, Curt, a history buff with an expertise on the evolution of L.A. On this fascinating guided L.A. tour, the old ghosts and memories that cling to the streets and structures of Los Angeles will come to life.   We’ll explore almost 100 years of murder, mystery and scandal and the influence that organized crime had on this city. Enjoy time at leisure for lunch on your own at L.A.’s famous and eclectic Grand Central Market. Suggested: walking shoes.

Journey with us to The Grand Event Center in Long Beach for a delectable holiday-themed luncheon and a must see original holiday stage show starring Daryl Wagner as Mr. Showmanship himself, Liberace. A Candelabra Christmas is filled with all the holiday warmth, music, joy & laughter expected during this beloved season. Impressionist  Featuring amazing piano performances, comedy, sing-along carols, a special tribute to Judy Garland by impressionist Bethany Owens and, of course, the show-stopping costumes only Liberace could wear, you won’t want to miss this afternoon of colorful holiday entertainment.

IN WALT’S FOOTSTEPS
SUNDAY, JANUARY 19, 2020

We’ll visit sites that had significant importance in the life of Walt Disney. We begin with a visit to the Stanley Ranch Museum, home to some of the oldest homes and businesses in Orange County. Amongst several fascinating buildings, dating back to the late 1800s and early 1900s, is the Walt Disney Studio Garage. We’ll next venture to Griffith Park to visit Walt Disney’s Carolwood Barn, a living showcase of Walt’s passion for railroading that is only open one day per month! Many of Walt's personal items and tools are displayed including workbenches he built himself. And there is More!!
Lunch included at the Tam O’ Shanter, Walt’s Favorite hangout.

GET YOUR KICKS…ON ROUTE 66!

Take a journey with us down memory lane along the “Mother Road,” Route 66, to explore some of the California icons that were made famous along this Route. As we travel along Route 66, see landmarks, historical buildings and ‘mom and pop’ shops that contributed in making Route 66 the “Main Street of America.” In historic Old Town Victorville, enjoy a docent-guided tour of the California Route 66 Museum,Enjoy lunch on your own at the new Cracker Barrel Old Country Store that recently opened.  In San Bernardino, we will visit the original site of McDonald’s (once owned by the McDonald brothers), which opened in 1948, this was the site where Ray Kroc tried to sell Dick and Mac McDonald a MixMaster in 1954 and ended up buying their name.
